The Areas We Cover
We're based at 10 W Broad St, right downtown, and that location puts most of the service area within a short drive. Close in, we handle. A bit further out we work Grandview Heights and Bexley (both 3 miles).
We also run jobs out to Whitehall, Upper Arlington, Gahanna, Worthington, Lincoln Village, Blacklick Estates, Obetz, Groveport, Westerville, Dublin, Canal Winchester, New Albany, Powell, Pataskala, and the farther edge of the map: Sunbury, Carroll, and Johnstown, up to about 20 miles out. If you're not sure your street falls inside that range, call and ask - it takes thirty seconds to check an address against our route.
After You Call
Call 614-642-8619 and you'll talk to a person, not a menu
Tell them what the door is doing - won't open, cable off the drum, opener grinding but the door won't move - and they'll ask a few follow-up questions so the right parts end up on the truck the first time.
We don't quote a repair over the phone without knowing what's actually broken
A snapped cable and a burned-out opener motor are both "the door won't open" until someone looks at the spring, the drums, and the track.
If parts need to be ordered
Some opener boards and certain panel styles aren't things we keep on hand - we'll tell you that up front rather than let you find out on arrival. That's the one honest gap in the process: common torsion springs and rollers, we carry; less common opener models can mean a short wait.

Who Turns Up
Whoever shows up is working from the same information you gave on the phone, and they're equipped for the kind of door stock this area actually has. Housing here runs from 1938 up through 2006, with the median sitting around 1986, and a lot of it across the named neighborhoods is 1980s and 90s construction - which means older extension-spring setups next to newer torsion systems, sometimes on the same street.
Columbus sits in a cold-climate band with severe winters, and that matters for the work: steel contracts, lubricant stiffens, and torsion springs that were already fatigued tend to let go on the first hard cold snap rather than in July. That's the kind of failure we see a lot of, and it's also why a cheap spring job is rarely the full fix if the opener and hardware are the same age as the spring.
We stick to garage door repair and installation - springs, openers, tracks, panels, cables, rollers. We don't do general handyman work or unrelated home repairs, and we'll say so rather than take a job outside that.

Frequently asked
Straight answers about garage door repair in Columbus. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
How old does a garage door have to be before repair stops making sense?
There's no fixed age, but once you're repairing the second or third failed part on a door original to a house built decades ago, replacement usually costs less over time than chasing individual failures. A door with one worn part and an otherwise sound frame is usually worth fixing regardless of age.
Why do springs seem to break more in winter here?
This area sits in a severe cold climate band. Cold metal loses tension faster, and a spring already near the end of its cycle count is more likely to snap on a cold morning than a mild one. It's not that cold causes the wear - it just speeds up the failure once wear is already there.
Do you carry parts for older doors on the truck?
For common parts - springs, cables, standard rollers - usually yes. For original hardware on older houses, sizing can be nonstandard, and panel matches on discontinued door styles sometimes mean a short order wait rather than a same-visit fix. We'll tell you which situation you're in before we start.
Does the age of my opener matter if the door itself is fine?
Yes - openers tend to fail around the 10-to-15-year mark on their own schedule, separate from the door. A sound door with a dying opener motor is a different repair than a door with a broken spring, and replacing the opener alone is often the right call.
